Should I Disclose Criminal History Before Background Check?

Unfortunately, while I have not been convicted of the crime, I did plead guilty in order to be allowed court supervision and a chance to avoid a conviction on my record.

A county circuit clerk search of the county which this took place will bring up the charge and that I've plead guilty but have not been convicted. Kind of complicated I know.

I'm just not sure what to do. This job could literally save my life and get me back on track for a somewhat decent future.

The HR person responsible for hiring for this department of the hospital is the one who reached out to me and sent me the job offer. She is already setting up the drug test and orientation day. I guess she is the one I would bring this up to.

My only hope is I will get a chance to give my side of the story (I have no other blemishes on my record). I understand a violent charge is serious and looks really bad but I'm holding out hope that it isn't an automatic revocation of the job offer.
