Should you factor in the age of a lawyer when using one?

You may not be a kid, but you’re someone’s child and therefore a kid. I wasn’t calling you a baby goat, if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m confident you’re not that.

I agree that in many peoples lives, there comes a natural point where something like a Power of Attorney or advanced medical directive is necessary. In some cases, the mental deterioration may be so bad that the relative is completely incapable of making sound decisions.

You didn’t say anything about your parents ability to make decisions, you questioned a specific decision your parents made about their legal representation.

This isn’t my situation but just an example.

Hence, you aren’t asking about your parents situation, you’re asking about their lawyer. If you don’t have any concerns about your parents abilities to make decisions, you don’t have any reason to be concerned about their choice of legal representation.
