should financial restitution ever be made?

Who are you to judge? I don't think you have any authority in heaven to say where people will end up. Especially when a conversion of their soul can happen at any second, even at the moment of death. You said "if i met one" that you would just knock them out. You never said if things got heated an altercation was started, because both of you cannot handle your emotions, and then you knock him out in "self defense".

So now you are changing your story, realizing you cannot just walk up to somebody and punch them. It doesn't matter what they do, it doesn't give you any right to hurt anyone or curse them. It also seems as if you have a problem with forgiveness and mercy. You withhold those from anyone, Jesus will withhold those from you as well.

Jesus didn't die on the cross for us to hurt everyone who does evil or makes poor decisions. That is evil in itself, when you harm anyone out of actual self defense. You are skewed in your understanding of the teachings of our faith. We are to pray for people, have mercy, hope, love above all else.

Lets be honest, you also have sins you aren't willing to give up also right? Just like their choices, you too, are hurting Jesus.
