Do you think the US should form an Asian NATO to counter China?

Hard no to anything more entangling than what we currently have. I have nothing against working together for a common good but the history runs too deep here, and they have their own historical issues and whatever the hell else that could and would become a serious conflict for us. It would be the US maintaining a ready security force in each of these countries because the second it looked like we we're picking favorites amongst them it would increase tension between them. They bicker amongst themselves quite a bit. Plus the US acts as a crutch, they don't have to truly extend themselves for one another defense and instead every problem becomes the US problem.

I'm pro-NATO because we have no long-term storage plans for US weapons located overseas and although it is a crutch, it is already in place. Withdrawing that crutch entirely might cause more damage. German bases get cited frequently because of its longstanding stability but there are countries where its only been so long since they've established independent governments and still need our support, even if it is just to help the public keep faith in their own government and its security. But the US isn't going to have a leg to stand on if it gets more entangled with alliances like this.
