Should hacking bitcoin be illegal?

Does this apply to phishing to steal your identy?

Every successful phishing attack that I've heard of occurred because the phishee made some kind of mistake. Most phishing attempts are very lame and you have to be really careless to fall for them. However, if you lose your identity you pretty much have to go to the authorities to get it straightened out.

If you allow your bitcoin private info to be phished you don't have to go to the authorities. Just chalk it up as a learning experience and move on. No need to get the government involved.

Ok fair enough.

Does this apply to shaddy banks or stock exchanges as well?

Shady banks and stock exchanges need to be regulated because there is no alternative. With bitcoin, you can be your own bank and use localbitcoins.

I can keep cash in my house, since your version of "survival of the fittest" seems to keep houses off limits. Thats an alternative isn't it? There are multitude of banks and exchanges why do they "need" to be replaced and protected but bitcoin equivalents dont?

Like using your credit card online?

Credit cards are heavily regulated. We can keep bitcoin from succumbing to that fate if we just take the time to learn proper security techniques.

So is that a yes or a no? You van use temporary credit cards, and use proper encryption to secure online transactions whats the difference? Also what about line skimmers in stores?

Like getting robbed because you didn't install a surveillance/alarm system or hire a guard?

2FA costs nothing. There is no reason not to use it and if you get hacked while not using 2FA, then it is entirely on you.

Again I noticed you didn't answer the question. Your definition of nothing needs review. What 2FA are you using that doesn't require some sort of digital time keeper? Authy Google Authenticator, etc all require a computer. Last time I checked everything cost something.

You continue to display an inadequately formulated world view. You serm to fantasize this anarchist survival view, while setting up exceptions that protect your weakness.
What if I grab your off the street and torture you for your keys? After all defending yourself is free, and not doing so is simply your mistake; so we're good right? No need for police or FBI.
