It should be illegal to force your employees to work when they’re sick.

I have worked remotely the past year and a half due to the pandemic and have accomplished more than I ever would have being in the office. No interruptions, no downtime from being sick. Because I was sick exactly 0 times. In 2020 I was out probably a total of about 12 business days to having bronchitis, pneumonia, the flu - all acquired from some combination of taking public transportation to/from work and being in the office.

Now they’re trying to make us go back into the office by August. They know we can do our jobs successfully from the comfort and safety of our homes but the economy will suffer if we’re not out there polluting the air sitting in traffic for an hour and 20 minutes just to go 9.2 miles to/from work. All the businesses and restaurants we used to patronize will shut down. We don’t need to buy nice clothes if we’re working from home so there’s that. I’m not willing to get sick anymore to make sure other people have a job to do.
