One way would be to make prostitution legal like it is in Germany. This has reduced rape cases. In 2009, about 7,314 rape cases were reported in Germany, a rate of 9 per 100,000 people, whereas in the U.K. during 2006 there were 85,000 women raped equating to about 230 cases every day. The 2006"07 British Crime Survey reports that 1 in every 200 women suffered from rape in that period [2].

wow, i've never seen anyone fuck up statistics that badly, it's actually amazing. Setting aside the slightly more subtle issues that reported rape != rape incidents, and that you really really really can't do inter-country comparisions and attribute differences to just one variable, couldn't this person even find equivalent statistics to use? If you're giving rates per 100,000 people in one country, give them for both. And why 2006 and 2009? I'm pretty sure crime statistics get recorded every year.
