Should I be teaching co-workers how to do my job?

Yes, perhaps it is time. He never approached me and asked what I'm thinking or what my career goals are. He is a former peer that has half the time in the company that I do and was promoted over me last year. There might be some resentment on his end because there have been times in the past where we were shorthanded in the past and I've done software development while he did support. At the time, there were no other developers. Maybe he thinks he's doing me a favor by taking this load off of my back. Hard to tell.

He has absolutely no knowledge of programming or database administration btw. I can give him ideas but he wouldn't know how to implement. We don't have formal standards or version control, and if you have four developers working on stuff without standards, things can get out of control really quick. I'm not sure he understands that.
