Should teens be doing their own laundry?

My five year old helps me load the washing machine, including pouring the detergent, setting the cycle, and starting the machine. She does the same with the dryer. Supervised and assisted, but she knows what to do, just can't reach/lift without help. Both she and her eight year old brother fold and put away their own clothes. In a few years, I will not participate in their laundry at all; it will be 100% theirs to handle

I can not imagine a scenario where I am doing the majority of any household chores when my kids are teenagers. We all live in the house, we all need to contribute, and teenagers should pull their own weight. If your husband wants to relieve them of their responsibility, he should take it over himself.
