Some extracted points of a rant I did at the start of the year when valve was fuckin up changing ranked MMR. I know this topic is about unranked, but it correlates to the thinking that a soloQer should be adviced about the quality of the game.
Im sorry if it looks too ranty... I actually retired for 6 months after these changes. Had a couple of weeks of actual hell and I just couldnt take it any longer.
And anyway, the only thing I ever wanted for soloQ, more than not seeing peruvians again, was just not seeing parties on my game ever.fucking.again. If you disagree with a peruvian in soloQ, you are disagreeing with one dude at a time. Meanwhile, if you disagree with a guy that is in duo-partyMMR, you are instantly disagreeing with TWO guys at a time, unknowingly. And this skews the game really badly.
You queue to SoloQ with a SoloQ mindset. Meanwhile the party duo is queuing with a party MMR mindset, hence they play a different kind of dota that you are not used in SoloQ.
There is absolute no sign to tell you (to warn you) that you are playing with parties in that game. The only ones that know there are parties in the game, are the guys that are in a party, and this is extra and useful information everyone should know. Yet just 4 players out of 10 have this information until the game is done.
Whenever the game is like, really odd and out of your regular understanding, just think about the posibility of this game having parties on it.
That one might not be true in unranked, since pretty much every game is really odd.
At least, for fucks sake, give a hint somewhere in your new garbage HUD that the game is a mixed game, so SoloQers are as informed as PartyQers what kind of game they are playing, so all 10 players can adapt to this game, and not just 4 players that wont say a shit because they know how hard they are fucking with the real numbers.
