We should be way, way angrier about how COVID was handled

millions of people died from a preventable disease

Over 25% of all healthcare costs in the US annually are spent on type 2 diabetes, which is 100% preventable, caused solely by poor diet and physical inactivity , non-contagious, and completely treatable with diet and exercise in lieu of medication (https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/diabetes/overview/symptoms-causes). It kills 80k Americans annually.

If you want to be upset over handling of preventable diseases killing Americans, here’s an easy one to fix that is causing more of a financial and personnel burden on our medical industry than cancer, heart disease, and all infectious diseases- and can be prevented and treated without medical intervention in the first place.
