Why you shouldn't pay attention to rotten tomatoes

I did not see the movie because 1. I'm tired of paying money to be disappointed by reboots, no matter how close or far away they are from original material and 2. I just feel Hollywood doesn't get it.

I paid money to go see Transformers 4 because based on the trailers, I genuinely thought they were going in a new direction. But it was worse and I hated what they did to the Dinobots especially. So, unless a movie can convince me like The Force Awakens - then I'll gladly buy a ticket but otherwise no.

As for the 2nd point, I want to read the story to see if it makes sense in terms of what we know because whatever they come up with has to be on par with the original story in terms of all elements. And this story that Paul Feig and his team came up with was just plain ridiculous and the villain was stupid.

Here's a food for thought - keep the name Rowan but make him like an ancient occultist ghost - someone who had spent his entire human life being with spirits that as a ghost, he was one of the most powerful. Whenever he is in contact with weaker ghosts, he strengthens/enhances their capabilities which could explain the Haunted Mansion special effects. And on top of that, I would argue that they should have made Leslie Jones the main star because that's one thing I agree with Jada Pinkett Smith - there should be more diverse actors in lead roles. Do I think Ghostbusters could be an Oscar winner - maybe not but I would certainly make an attempt at it. Plus, she is the only one that made me laugh in the trailers - she was genuinely funny to me. That's just my two cents.
