Shouldn't be traveling without money in the first place...

My original post you commented on wasn’t referring to to the person begging in the picture but elaborating on the comment the other user said on how people travel abroad by living cheaply and explaining the idea behind it. And nothing is wrong with couch hopping cause it’s a way to meet new people sharing the same passion for traveling and beats paying $300 a night for some fancy ass hotel you don’t need.

Take me. I’m living in France going to school here — I know no one here and have no family on this entire continent and not fluent in French and had to do my living arrangements on my own. Yet I learned how to survive, found a job, and live life, and did own study on the language while making my own friends. My own white as snow classmates travel by themselves to do things in the Middle East and Africa staying with families and other like minded individuals and come back just fine with tons of insight for their research.

Look one is telling you to be some wide eyed tourist without a care in the world regarding personal safety and getting blacked out drunk while traveling to war zones like Iraq or Syria. But stop acting like the world you don’t know is some big bad scary place where bad things immediately happen.

I bet everyone who has done solo travel to another country will recommend you do it cause it’s a truly freeing experience. Am I right in saying you’ve never done this before or talked with people who have?
