Shout out to these guys!

There is a multitude of options and tools for people with mental health problems to seek out. There’s hotlines, local communities, websites, organizations, and established institutions all dedicated to helping people with mental problems. The issue isn’t denying these people help. It’s that we strongly discourage being anything but healthy as a society. In social media, everyone portrays their perfect self. It’s a sea of facades, but we assume that these are people being their genuine selves. Nobody regularly talks about vulnerability and their low points. It’s not trendy, popular, or comfortable to talk about how you need help. We scroll past those posts after feeling sorry for about 2 seconds. We need to normalize betterment for ourselves. Acknowledging your suffering is a problem, having the strength to admit you need help, and actually getting help are all things we need more of as a society.

Suicide is not a healthy, long-term solution to any problem. It should never be accepted in society, and we should never stop trying to help each other get better in healthy ways.
