TB only cares about his PAYING audience.

and only his paying audience really cares about him (with few exceptions like his family, friends etc).

The rest of us enjoy his content, love it in fact...but we don't care enough about him to support him financially. We're like the friends who don't chip in when a group goes out to eat together.

I don't think we have the right to say he has an ego, just because he's not giving us everything for free. Nothing wrong with caring primarily about those who support you. May be other good reason for thinking he has an ego, but sub only chat isn't one of them.

It'd be nice to not have sub only chat. From his perspective it'd be nice from his perspective if we paid for the meal he just cooked for us back in the restaurant kitchen! but there are some who complain that the service was slow for the free meal, and there wasn't a free drink included. Saying he has an ego because the customers who paid for dessert got it is a bit ridiculous.
