This shut down is completely ridiculous and mass hysteria

Well.. there's been almost 70K COVID-19 deaths in the United States alone. The virus alone is for the most part not overly threatening to those under ~60 that are not autoimmune compromised.

One of the reasons quarantining is so important is to spread the rate of which people are getting infected over a longer span of time. The problem is un-preparedness for the pandemic which made hospitals fill up and have to turn down patients in critical conditions. For a lot of people, getting COVID-19 will be inevitable until there is a vaccine. This is why we have to make sure everyone who will need it will be able to get treatment.

The media actually underhyped this virus lol which is why it is such a big problem. If we took early precautions it would likely be somewhat contained by now.

Also, a lot of young people are asymptomatic carriers. This is why, while the virus is not a death sentence for many, it is very effective in infecting mass amounts of people.

I would gladly take my college classes online and stay home if it meant people will not lose their lives.
