People are crazy At the far end of either spectrum. Super conservative right wing folks are just as grim as super liberal lefts. I experience more of them from the left because it’s closer to my ideals, and what I find most repulsive is that we mostly share similar views but they will alienate you based on one or two things.

If you genuinely didn’t mean to misgender, (i’m a typo extraordinaire so this is massively feasible to me) then don’t worry about it, if you know the person an apology to them is fair. The ones who will be fine when you correct it and give reason/apologies for it, are the ones who will probably listen to your overall point. The ones who turn to abusing people over it are already set up to never change and will hate a person because they aren’t the same as themselves.
