Silverblue, why?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

First of all Windows and Macos are closed source while Silverblue is open source.

I don't think being opensource or not is relevant in this discussion.

I think the best analogy would be comparing Silverblue to Android and in my opinion it's were Fedora devs are heading.
If you want Linux to become sustainable and wide spread OS you have to work with OEMs. For OEMs to trust OS it has to be rock solid, easily and secure updatable without breaking user environment and apps. User on another hand has to be locked out of system access for his own safety. Because, let's be honest, most problems are caused by their own stupidity since they tend to do things they are not supposed to. Only this way OS developers can ensure their system integrity and gain OEMs trust.

This is just plain scary, though you may very well be right. That said, if the price Linux has to pay to become mainstream is to become a walled garden software appliance and leave behind everything that makes Linux a so much better as alternative OS if the user wants to invest a little time to conquer change and learn new things, then maybe the Linux community should be happy where it is. Seriously, if that is what it takes all that's left is the name.
