Water is pretty strange stuff, it actually contracts when heated from zero up to four degrees, many successful career scientists I have spoken to are not even interested in phenomena that is hard to explain, mainly they just try to fit everything into assumptions. Correlation causation fallacy is wide spread. There is a difference is thinking what scientists think, and thinking like a scientist. Asking questions as you are doing is real science and real skepticism, bravo!
