A simple one-hour therapy session has helped to cure 73% of people suffering from acute insomnia, according to a new study from Northumbria University released today.

Lets see:

Wake at 525 AM, Shower, Breakfast, leave for work by about 6 to 630, depending if it is my day to drop the 4 year old at preschool or not.

Work until 3 or 4 most days, depending on if there are meetings scheduled in the afternoon or not - somedays I get off earlier if I worked longer the day before, somedays I work longer if business necessitates.

Assuming an average "arrival at home" time of 4pm, I then need to begin preparing dinner, which takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on the days menu. Somewhere during this time, my wife will get home and get a load of laundry started while waiting for me to prepare dinner. The children are usually either performing a chore or taking a quick break in the yard if the weather is nice, since they have been at school all day, and won't have much free time the rest of the day.

Once dinner is done, it is usually time to get the kids off to either a baseball or softball practice (son, daughter) or a T-ball, baseball, or softball game. (son, son, daughter). Since these almost always run concurrently, and rarely at the same location, the wife and I must split up with the kids. Depending on if it is a practice or a game, we might be wrapped up by about 630 or 7 pm, or perhaps as late as 8 or 830 pm.

Assuming it is a practice night and we are home by 7, it is then time for the older children to do their homework. My daughter, especially, requires assistance due to her struggles and disabilities. My 4 year old is allowed to watch one show, which keeps him occupied for all of 20 minutes. I take this time to catch up with household issues such as paying bills, balancing the bank account, etc. while my wife works on homework with my daughter.

Once the tv show is over, I spend some time playing with our 4 year old while his siblings finish up homework for the day.

Once homework is done it is time for everyone to prepare their lunches for the next day. The older 2 prepare their own lunch, but naturally the 4 year old must have his prepared for him, which my wife and myself work together on.

Finally, it is bed time - the perscribed bedtime is 830, but it only goes later on game days (see above), in which case the homework time is moved up to before-dinner while I am cooking (no free time) and the lunches are made just before leaving for the game - and bedtime is basically as soon as we are home from the game.

Once the children are in bed, there are dishes to tend to, laundry to tend to, and various other to do items that are probably several days old, and often get put off.

This usually takes us through until at least 930 pm, but often will take much longer depending on what other miscellanous items require attention. For instance, during the summer, the lawn will need to be mowed twice a week, every few days we have to clean up the family pets refuse from the back yard.

Oh, did I mention there is always ongoing maintenance projects to be addressed as a home owner? I am in the midst of a bathroom remodel - but realistically, that is on hold until the sports season is over in another month - I will have about a 2 month window before soccer season starts. Hopefully I can complete the work in that time.

But yes, I am just horrible at organization and time management. I don't actually have nearly everything scheduled every day. I don't have a google calendar the size of an encyclopedia at all.
