Simple Questions - April 25, 2017

I bought the AOC G2260VWQ6 75Hz monitor to pair with my RX 480 4GB and FreeSync works incredibly at 60Hz. However, once I change the display refresh rate to 75Hz I get black flickering (not just regular flickering but the screen would actually flicker black) on games like The Witcher 3 and Total War: Warhammer. I found out this is a FreeSync issue because when I turn off FreeSync the black flickering stops. It's really odd because FreeSync works perfectly at 60Hz refresh rate but not at 75Hz.

  • I've clean installed the latest AMD driver (17.4.3).

  • I've installed the beta driver for the monitor that expands the FreeSync range from 48-75Hz to 35-75Hz.

I do admit that I am not familiar with FreeSync monitors and AMD products in general (I used to be an Intel+Nvidia fanboy) so I could very well be overlooking something here. I was wondering if perhaps someone from this subreddit can help me out?

tl;dr FreeSync works perfect at 60Hz but bugs out at 75Hz on a 75Hz FreeSync monitor.
