Never built a computer here, just used old fam computers back in the day til I got a laptop for college. I have ~$1200 budget, is this a good build for the cost? I guess specifically, is a 144 Hz monitor worth it with a 970?

I am giving up on using optical drives... if I really need to use one I have a Blu Ray player I can put next to my computer. However, and this may be dumb, but do I need to buy network adapters or are those pretty much built into the motherboard now? Again, sorry if that is really stupid, I am a total noob at this.

Also, do I need the CPU cooler? I added that after the fact because I thought it would be important, but it didn't add one by default like other parts which makes me wonder if it is necessary.
