Cross posting a question I posted on /r/NZXT:

I recently installed a Kraken x63 on my CPU and I have a few questions. Since I only have two USB headers on my motherboard, I picked up the NZXT usb hub to extend that. I was primarily worried about being able to alter my fan speeds via CAM, like I can with my x62 on my GPU, but I learned that this isn't possible with the x63.

SO, my questions are, now that I have changed my pump settings to 100% and turned off the RGB, do I really need the USB even plugged in? Will it retain those settings? I know, for example with my x62, the RGB turns back on after I disconnect the power supply. Is there a way to permanently keep the RGB off so I don't have to worry about that?
