My one month old Seagate hard drive makes quiet taps or ticks, and occasionally louder variations of those taps. On startup I get either a couple of taps, or one. When reading and writing, I get those taps, with a louder tap occasionally. They don’t sound like the click of death and I have used CrystalDiskInfo, SMART, SeaTools, Speccy and HDSentinel, and they all say the drive is perfect. It’s always been doing this however it may be normal and I’m just paranoid? According to Seagate, it makes clicks/chattering when reading or writing, or during offline scans when it is not reading/writing, with the noise being louder the faster the drive spins. https://www.seagate.com/support/kb/what-should-i-do-for-a-noisy-disk-drive-193731en/. Is this normal for Seagate drives and should I not worry since it’s passed every test I’ve thrown at it?
