I've done worse than this before. Then more convincingly blamed it on the other vendor and got paid to clean it up. Spent 2 hours on a remote session demonstrating how it could not have been my code because it wasn't the same style I used elsewhere -- "even the comments have a different writing style!"

Don't feel guilty either. They only brought in the other vendor because they didn't trust we'd get it done in the time we said. Their reasoning? The other vendor said it can't be done in that time frame. With the experience I had, and having done it dozens of times before with far more complex requirements, I knew we'd overshot as it was. The other international vendor also promised to be "cheaper".

Oh well. Hopefully they learned a lesson. Got double the pay to fix what I broke.
