Since everyone is shitting on Luke Smith: Just remember he directed The Taken King - arguably the high note of D1

Transparency is always a good thing but it is still worth some note that Luke Smith worked in PR before signing on with Bungie. He obviously knows what he's doing, the timing for this release of information was clearly deliberate though and it kind of seems like a trick.

Think about it, if you're going to deliver the biggest developmental change to the Destiny franchise, How can you do so without having most of the community realize it's true impact on the future of the game? Do it while every major streamer, content creator, and elite player is away from their so-called studios.

Luke Smith is smart, I have to disagree though that this was a direct manner. Also if you really read through the article, there are many places where he is ridiculously vague about their plan of action.

I know they will make a good product, I'm not questioning that. I would really like to hear the opinions of people like Datto, DBL and the Planets Destiny Crew, and some of the other major streamers. These people are very close to the game and have a pretty good knowledge about some things... the fact most of their voices won't be heard until later just makes this a bit unsettling and is probably why a lot of people don't know what to make of it.

It's it always a good thing to formulate a personal opinion, whatever it might be, but I also like to hear the opinion's of people who have a good reputation for disseminating information like this.
