Since the US has such a solid history of overthrowing 3rd world dictators, what's been stopping us from sending secret agents to NK to kill Kim Jong Un?

This information is kind of out dated. Most North Koreans are less worried about surviving/starving these days. That's not to say that they aren't poor compared to other countries. But they have enough money where 60% of people aged 20-50 own cell phones. There's a lot of capitalism in NK these days, and markets with foreign goods, especially from China.

The elites are starting to have doubts and the young especially have lost faith in the regime’s promises for a better future.

Now there's news of complaints from average citizens and students who are understandably upset about the number of hours they are away from their normal pursuits as they are continually forced to work on government projects.

That these criticisms and grievances are being voiced is significant, for in the past, such dissent was not well tolerated by the regime.

I don't know how reliable any of that information is though.
