If so, then what is your alternative? In the end I would wish that McDonalds, Walmart and other large companies help their employees more. It would be great to see them pay their employees more and have more people living better lives. I see both sides of the coin. The thing is anyone can work at McDonalds so that means they will hire anyone to do the same job at the lowest rate. Unless you're the manager or owner for a McDonalds you can't expect to make great money. The stats have shown that the vast majority of people working there use that income as supplemental income for their family.

We also have to think about rise of costs and the layoff of employees. A report by John Schmitt for the Center for Economic and Policy Research found that a 10% increase in the minimum wage would raise food prices about 4%. If we extrapolate, a $10 minimum wage would raise food costs about 15% and a $15 minimum wage would raise costs about 43%.

If the best job you are skilled enough or hard working enough to do is a burger flipper at Mickey D's, you deserve to be paid lower than everyone else. The rest of us work too hard to be forced to pay for your lack of skills.

I'm not against raising minimum wage as it is way overdo but forcing business to raise income isn't going to solve anything. They [McDonalds} will just cut employees or cut employees who have been there longer and already have a higher wage. That's just the reality of it. If someone wants more money and they can hire someone who will settle for less money for doing the same job, who will they hire? We all love reading these fantasy stories on paper but I don't seeing truly happening. They will raise wages by a dollar to get people temporarily happy and that will be it.
