This single mom works two jobs and has a bachelor's degree. She wants lawmakers to know poverty is not about being lazy.

Come on dude. Enough of this. I grew up in poverty for most of my life and I can say that in my personal experience most of the people who live in that state are there due to laziness. Yes, some are disabled or mentally ill. Some didn't have an education. Some have had extremely bad luck. But let's cut the bullshit, a lot of people who live in poverty are lazy.

Despite what Reddit would like you believe there are opportunities out there to be had. I hate this notion that has popped up in the last few years online that all poor people are simply wage slaves to corporate billionaires when most people parroting this have probably never lived in project housing or gone to bed hungry.
