Singtel’s customer service might be the worst in Singapore

can attest that we’re absolutely terrible with downright inflexible rules and regulations, as well as horrendous employee empowerment (the “amount” you’re allowed to waive off as goodwill per customer). i don’t know how much different it is now (my ex-colleagues who have stayed on longer and eventually quit because of how fucked up things are simply don’t say good things about it), but I worked there for my internship in end-2016 start-2017 in the webchat department, and then 1.5 years in their social media team (Facebook / Twitter / specialised complaints link dealt directly under our team and not the call centre).

the workplace is horrible and there’s always politics, it’s very toxic, they make you lock your phones in lockers until break / end work (at least for the departments under the call centre division). they hire cheaply in their foreign call centres and don’t train properly. no wonder the company is a sinking ship and possibly the worst local big company ever haha.

i will read the full post later and try and help based on what i remember :)
