Sir Keir Starmer is the new leader of the Labour Party

You keep trying to turn this into a comparison of Biden and Sanders. I'm not a Sanders fan, or a Biden fan (I'm in fact not American; we're in a British subreddit). I can vote for neither and I support neither. The only point I'm trying to make is that Trump and Biden are not identical in terms of their political ideologies.

And come on. Let's take a step back here. We both know that Trump and Biden are politically distinct. Biden's platform is the most progressive platform of any Presidential candidate in American history. That's a fact. But you're arguing that his platform is indistinguishable from Trump's platform? Come on, pal! You know that's not true! We both do!

That's what's so frustrating about these conversations. You know that there are significant differences between the political ideologies of Trump and Biden. You know this! You do! You're obviously not a moron, and I genuinely believe that you appreciate the difference between a second Trump presidency and any putative Biden presidency. But you're pretending that you don't, in order to demonstrate your progressive bona fides. And I'm supposed to go along with this pretence?

And look. I completely understand if you're frustrated that Biden won't go far enough. I understand the concerns you raise, and believe it or not, I share most of them. But you've been dragged so far down into the rhetorical rabbit-hole that you're starting to advocate political positions that will doom any chance of effecting the positive changes in society that we both want to see happen. To reach the point where you can't tell the difference between Trump and Biden is a sign that something has gone seriously wrong.
