I just read all the comments and woooh, I just can’t believe nobody apparently answers the door...

So different perspective here: my SKs do the same, even left me standing outside while I returned from walking the dog and forgot my keys, they just wouldn’t answer the door. After that incident we told them to always answer and get an adult at the door.

And I’m sorry, but I just can’t imagine not answering the door? Salesmen: we don’t have them here, religious people: neither, homeless people looking for some job: also not present. Feeling blessed now for the save environment we live in. And who’s here wondering where non of these things are and where we answer the door when a neighbour needs to borrow something; I live in the very very very centre of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) 5 mins walk from central station...
