First off, you said Estabrooks claimed to be able to do that. Even if he did actually claim that, that's very different from proving he's actually done it. I can claim many things without it being true.

Furthermore, his definition of hypnosis is probably different from mine. Hitler was able to make people commit atrocious acts that I'm sure many of those people would say they'd never do otherwise. Does that mean he hypnotized them? No. It's an extreme form of persuasion that causes people to shift their ideologies.

If a person were to somehow commit a crime under hypnosis, that would mean they would already have a tendency to commit crimes or have thought seriously about committing crimes before but haven't done it for some reason. All hypnosis is is a state of heightened focus and relaxation that causes people to be more likely to accept suggestion. It seems like you're getting your ideas of hypnosis from TV shows and Movies.

I don't need to have the burden of proof because I'm not making the bold claim that people can commit crimes against their will. Please link me even just one piece of scientific literature that shows that people can be hypnotized to commit acts against their will.
