Slain Huntsville teen was shot as he was running away - unarmed - from vehicle burglary

I'm going to preface this my saying this is a purely unemotional statement. I'm only concerned right now with what is legal, not morally correct.

Section 13A-7-7 defines burglary in the 3rd degree as unlawfully entering or remaining in a building to commit a crime therein.

Section 13A-7-1 list various definitions for what is classified as a bulding. One of the classifications for a building is a trailer tractor. Allegedly, theft occurred inside of a trailer tractor.

Section 13A-3-23 states when the use of deadly force is legal. Under this section it is stated that the use of deadly force is legal in response to a burglary of any degree.

Therefore, according to what is explicitly stated in the Alabama Code, it appears that the shooting was legal.

Once again, I'm not stating whether or not it was morally correct, but what is legal. I am by no means a lawyer (as in I could be completely wrong), just someone who felt like doing some research on this since it is quite a controversial situation.
