Slander Discussion

I'm a fan and have thought of this before- I've just come to the conclusion that Reddit is not the best representation of the electronic music fan population as a whole.

I feel like Redditors, in general, are more avid listeners and that's why we take the time to come here and discuss, in detail, the scene and all it encompasses... we're a more "underground" group of listeners.

It's obvious that most people here hate it when DJs talk on the mic, but maybe the silent majority of mainsteam kids (not Redditors) just like being conducted that way? I feel like after DJs like Slander and Jauz, etc have been touring as long as they have then their careers would have spiraled down after people see them live. They're selling out shows in bigger rooms instead of struggling to get bookings.

This is just one small case, but there seems to be a pattern i.e Marshmello is easily a top 3 DJ in the world and can't even remember the last time I saw a string of positive comments on r/edm, trap, aves.

Btw, this is not at all meant to be taken as an rebuttal against your comment, just bringing this up to maybe strike some interesting discussion around this since most of the time it's a hate-train or bandwagon when topics like this come up.
