Sleep Paralysis

yes. it doesn't scare me. I basically enjoy the ride. One night there were little pipes sticking out of my walls and I was able to "zoom" up to them, and inside were tiny men in the dark tubes. they were freaky and scared me pretty bad though.

Some nights when I'm having sleep paralysis I'll lay there all night being conscious (I guess I'm conscious), I'm at least self-aware... but also somehow asleep (I guess that's sleep paralysis). And I'll tell myself "Ok, go ahead and try to move your arm" and nothing happens. or "ok, now try moving your legs. or just jump up and get out of bed." and nothing happens. But I don't panic, I know I'm asleep, so I just lay there and be self-aware and I just lay there and try to think of jokes. Then I write them down when I wake up, because i was so aware all night I was able to actually think up a pretty decent act.

I'm curious if anyone else has this though: One thing about my sleep paralysis is that I know I'm going to have sleep paralysis when I am dozing off and I start having what feels like/sounds like an electrical buzz shocking right in the back of my skull and traveling all through my body. I can hear the electrical arch and feel it cycle through me. When that Happens I know I'm in for a real night of sleep paralysis. The best I can find from online research is that electrical buzz is my body going into sleep mode, most people are becoming unaware during this so they don't notice the buzz. But since I am conscious I can hear/feel the buzz. The buzzing is most prevalent and happens most often if I just engaged in the big S (if you know what I mean). Following that, as I'm dozing off, my head is (usually) buzz world central followed by a night of self aware sleep paralysis.

I also have something called "Exploding Head Syndrome" where as I am dozing off, I'll hear an incredible loud electrical arching buzz, but outside my head, not in the back of my skull. Followed by a BANG that instantly wakes me up. Sometimes it's associated by a white flash behind my eyes. And when you wake up, it sounds like/feels like/you're convinced that what you just heard, the bang that woke you was a gun going off outside, or all of the doors in your house slammed all at once, or someone crashed over a bookshelf somewhere, etc. you are certain the sound was outside your head and you woke up bc there actually was a BANG. And, (I know this sounds nuts) but it's followed by a (small) fit of laughter. And then you're back to sleep.
