Sleep Study Techs of Reddit, what's the craziest thing you've seen someone do or heard them say in their sleep?

As an accident myself, I can tell you how it's affected my life. Basically, my mother never let me forget that I was an accident. Whenever we got into a fight while I was growing up, she would throw it in my face.

I read a lot of Chuck Palahniuk when I was a teenager, and one quote never escaped me.

"Your birth is a mistake you'll spend your whole life trying to correct."

I moved across the country when I was 20 and that helped with relationship I had with my mother, but she still tries to bring me down even though I have excelled in almost everything that I have done. I graduated high school at 16. I was salutatorian of my graduating class. I was a cheerleader for 6 years, captain for 2 (only to please my mother). I held key positions in several clubs at school (President, VP, Secretary, etc). I graduated college with a high 3.83 GPA. I make over six figures a year as a programmer. I'm in the process of getting my Masters at a top 10 college for Computer Science (paid for by myself).

It took me a long time to realize that that quote didn't define me. Now when I think about it, usually after a conversation with my mother, I tell myself I'm not trying to correct the mistake of my "birth" but making the most out of it. And yeah, I'm lucky I'm here, but I've stopped trying to correct my birth. It took me over 25 years to come to that conclusion.

I guess what I'm getting at is that being an accident really depends on the home environment. Knowing that I was an accident was detrimental because it was used against me every time anything bad happened. However, if you have a loving and supportive family who doesn't act the way my mother did, I can see how being an accident is no big deal.

Sorry for the wall of text, this just resonated with me so much.
