The slow death of the middle

It is neither a necessity nor will it significantly alter the life of any woman.

Are you a female? Did you know how my (and many more girls) day to day Life is affected by the 'period'? I am not supposed to touch anything. I am not supposed to pray. I am not supposed to go to any function which is a celebration. I am not supposed sit where everyone sits etc.... This verdict with the verdict on women can't be discriminated by a biological process is really a big victory for me. People are discussing about it. I know change won't happen in a day. But the generation that comes after mine won't have to go through this shit.

triple talak

Yes Triple thalak is more important. But saying this judgment is not necessary is just being ignorant.

For Ambedkar, the awakening of the dalit mind to their discrimination was more important than their mere right to enter temples. They too held the belief that entering the temple made it impure and this was what needed change. But in the case of Sabarimala, this understanding has not happened. The overwhelming majority of the stakeholders, i.e. female Ayyappa devotees, still do not get that they are being discriminated upon flimsy reasons and

Lol, I know! But are you saying that every single dalit knew that they were being discriminated when the proclamation happened. It took them 10 years to start going to Temple. Even in the mulakaram movement. Women were shy to wear the dress! They thought they were supposed to be like that. There is story were women undressed herself in front of everyone as she was shy to wear the mel mundu. She thought that was weird. Do you know how many people didn't wear Mel mundu till their death? My mother's grandmother didn't. Oppressed people never know that they are being oppressed! Comm., the swami, many other writers and activist are trying to tell the women that they are being discriminated. It's a slow process for sure.

That is why I call the benefits marginal.

May be it's like that for you! Not for us.

But the change that is happening to Kerala's social fabric and it's future is a cost that is too high to bear.

This is exactly what they said when kshethra praveshanam happened.
