Small business owners are not exempt from being assholes for only paying their employees minimum wage.

If your business isn’t bringing in enough profit to give your workers a respectable wage, hire fewer workers.

Don't tell other people how to run their business.

If you can’t afford to give 5-10 employees a $1 raise, your business is obviously failing.

That's not even remotely how business works. "Hey let's just randomly give our employees $1 raises for some reason.."

You already don’t have to give benefits in most states if you have fewer than a certain number of employees.

These same employees can work at a corporation instead of a small business. They made the conscious choice to work there.

Does that mean there will be fewer jobs on the market?

I feel like if they actually took your advice and there were less jobs on the market, then you'd complain about there being no jobs on the market.

Their time is better spent somewhere that respects them.

They are not slaves. They are not being forced to stay there they can leave and apply for jobs at any other location.
