Small businesses ask for rent relief as pandemic closures continue

Ivanka's shitty little business in China isn't significant in any way. Let's not pretend she's some titan of industry and that this is some big deal.

We have good reason to suspect that the WHO was compromised and the stupid, "keep borders open!" narrative that continues to be parrotted to this date could be at China's direction but blame needs to first be put at the WHO and investigated further. Trump has started going along this path.

But for all the talk about how no one was prepared because China covered things up, that is just completely unfair. Almost every single country in the world went through the same denial, "everything is under control, risk to Canadians is low" phase and since China was the absolute first country to see this virus, it makes their slow and hesitant response even more understandable compared to the west.

And what would we have done with the extra time? Videos of Wuhan were widespread by December last year everywhere. Our government didn't do shit. Our healthcare workers were lecturing us about fear mongering and telling us that the flu kills more people. Every single nurse I know personally was on Facebook finger waggling about us being sensationalist. This gif perfectly summarizes our reaction to this virus and the sooner we accept that our government fucked up, the sooner we can make sure this "never happens again™" https://tenor.com/view/monty-python-coronavirus-pandemic-surprise-march-gif-16611833
