(Small) Crafting update on Stream right now

At least two to my knowledge. I said "malicious" but I now realise that it doesn't mean in english what I wanted to say: I meant "wittingly" or something similar, basically playing with words.

First example: End game gear

There was a big thread on the official forums discussing the potential endgame for pure PVE players (so endgame outside of the darkzone). It represents a fairly large population of players in MMOs or games like Borderlands, people were speculating that the best end game gear would be available through the DZ, therefor diminishing interest for said PVE players. Natchai joined the discussion and here is his comment that I saved along with the link as I wasn't buying the game but his post made me reconsider (yet I was convinced this was a typical Ubi post and that it would turn out a lie hence the save):

Natchai_Ubisoft No, not true. It will be found more frequently in the Dark Zone perhaps, but you'll be able to have "endgame gear" outside the Dark Zone as well.

On another post he even said "the best endgame gear will be avaible in or out of the DZ"

Now this isn't a complete lie but the DZ isn't optionnal if your goal is gearing your character (which is usually a main goal of a PVE player). They splitted the blueprints meaning you can't craft half of your gear if you don't get to 50 in the DZ. Meanwhile Challenge mode rewards are more than underwhelming: In fact after playing almost a 100 hours of challenge modes I do not use a SINGLE piece coming from it. As a PVE player on release you were destined to end up with average gear by avoiding the DZ. Natchai re assured many end game Pvers that it wouldn't happen.. Now they may be correcting that with incursions we'll see, doesn't change the fact that Natchai played the pure story spinner to reassure people and probably getting some sales along the way.

Second example: Cheating

This one probably gives a smile to people familiar with ubisoft. As you probably know PC gamers are always worried about hackers/cheaters. And to many it can make or break a sale. So when pre release the question came on table: Will there be an anti cheat? Most said "no" but here comes Natchai posting: There will be a system in place, I cannot discuss it however.. Turns out it's a super system of nothing where you can even, cheat with cheatengine ==> Tears through laughter. This was on the steam forums.

Anyway, my post was probably a bit mis written as english isn't my mothertongue, but I still think this Natchai is a pure damage control/PR type of CM. He doesn't give accurate information, he merely comfort people until reality shows up. I really despise this type of aggressive marketting, and while I do not regret my purchase and enjoyed the game, I still feel that had this employee given accurate information I wouldn't have purchased the Division. At least not on release.

Hope this answers your question. :)
