That smile just makes me melt!

For the posters who have decided to take issue with this woman's body: If you want to curb body shaming, you can't participate in body shaming. No one should be made to feel that their body isn't good enough or doesn't conform to a layperson's volunteered opinion as to what kind of body type constitutes "healthy". Words have meanings, including the word healthy, and just as it's entirely possible for a woman of say 5'5" to be completely healthy and be north of 155 lbs., it's also entirely possible that the woman in the linked image is healthy by any reasonable medical, nutritional, or fitness standard. Passing judgment based on a single black and white photograph of someone who isn't clearly in bad health has absolutely nothing to do with health and absolutely everything to do with misdirected frustration that's become the same bullying that's inspired the frustration to begin with.

Ask yourself this: who is empowered by breaking this woman down? Who is made to feel better about themselves in an emotionally healthy way? Is a woman who's been told by society that she's worth less because she's overweight healed by leaving a comment about a thin woman needing to eat a sandwich? Of course not. On the off chance the woman in that picture actually sees some of these comments, the only real result will be that she is made to feel ashamed because of how she looks, despite the fact that not a single person commenting knows the first thing about her health.

Maybe she has EDNOS or maybe she's a distance runner who eats four times as many calories a day as you do to keep up with her impressive exercise regimen. You can't tell from one image, and pretending you can isn't a whole lot different than some entertainment tabloid posting a picture of Adele and speculating that she's unhealthy.
