Here's a sneak peek of the Shrine Circus Spidey act

My point is that I think Pittsburgh is a bunch of people that don't give a shit about anything unless it's Pittsburgh exclusive. Which is stupid.

When I've given sneak peeks of unannounced villains for Marvel shows (or Marvel shows part of major events in the city, like the circus), or just any kind of inside information about anything taking place in other cities, Columbus, Dallas, San Diego, New York, Los Angeles, people cared. People in other cities don't require something to be exclusive or related to their city for it to matter.

I've tried sharing things with Pittsburgh before and it's always met with the same xenophobic, at times insulting, and at best disinterest because it's not specifically what the city cares about (Sports teams and inside jokes).

A post about me meeting a Spider-Man (as Spider-Man, obviously) in the city was ignored completely. A post about me meeting a Spider-Man fan that just so happened to have the city in the background got upvotes, but all of the comments had to do with insulting whoever took the picture for using an HDR filter because "it ruined the picture of the city." The city in the background is what mattered to people on this board, not a child's dream coming true. That's not normal, that's not what people should care about.

Yinzers only love Pittsburgh and things directly related to Pittsburgh. Which is not a good thing. It shouldn't matter if something is directly related to Pittsburgh, other cities seem to show interest whenever something cool is happening in their town, there's any kind of major event in their town, or if a feature film was shot and is premiering in their town. But too much on this board, and in person, have I run into either apathy or outright negativity whenever it's something not UNIQUELY Pittsburgh.
