I snooped on the CEO's email account and got myself unfired

Yep, have known this to happen to people too. I also had to do some basic website programming (which I had no training in but picked it up) when working as teacher, and manager, at an academy and ran the place without extra pay when the owner was on maternity leave, owner was an asshole, had young teenage volunteers cleaning bathrooms and other dirty work, unpaid interns doing the same jobs as paid teachers which was illegal, and underpaid staff. And other illegal things too. I kept getting tasks upon tasks piling up because I could. When i had to unexpectedly get surgery and had a limit with what i could lift, she treated me like garbage because i was not as valuable. Until it came time to quit, she realized i was the only teacher who ran a lot of the administrative side and had made a bunch of systems to keep things organized (for my own sanity, not to be nice.) . Quit that job the moment i found another opportunity. She asked me to stay and i told her my next job was paying literally twice as much and she would have to match it. That was the end of the convo. But there is some sweet revenge for her because the graphic designer started as a teacher, got herself the in-house graphic designee job, and she got paid a lot more, did little work (said it took longer than it did) and eventually convinced the owner to let her work from home. I think by now she has quit but that job was also a big launching point. My hat was off to her.
