Just triggered me to a memory from a year ago where I had this strange long distance online dating pseudo-relationship with a girl who owned her own apartment out there, which I found to be a fete considering many people can hardly afford to rent in that area, nevermind own. I knew it was only a matter of time before she ended whatever it was she and I had, because when she became emotionally vulnerable, she'd rather push people away, so maybe a week or two later we were talking about childhood pets, and I jokingly said I was upset about how she didn't know enough about guinea pigs, and she thought I was honestly mad, and when I revealed I wasn't, she sent me this page-long kissoff. It was truly bizarre. She was beautiful, but so, so fragile and built with a steel wall around her to prevent anyone from actually getting close to her, physically or emotionally. We met on OkCupid.
