Social Inquiry: How are you guys going about daily life considering bat flu is fucking us hard? R u struggling, is your family struggling ? Just curious about the different perspectives experiencing this pandemic relative to class, region, or perhaps occupation etc ?

Washingtonian here. Family and friends live in Oregon. Working remotely is nice (engineer), but I do miss the commute and disassociation from my house. However, waking up, getting ready and committing to the couch is very convenient. I do live financially comfortable, but I am also diligent about budgeting.

I really miss my family and friends. Seattle to Portland is likely a 2 1/2 drive for once, but I really shouldn’t visit them because of this whole pandemic. Grandpa was a chainsmoker from 13 to 59 — has emphysema in his upper 70s, so that’s really scary to think about.

Staying local isn’t too bad. Every time I’ve gone to the grocery store, it’s empty but not unbearable. Perhaps I’m in a quieter area, though. I do live 10 mins from a beach; so that was fun to just sit at for 30 minutes with my wife.

I’ll produce music, play video games, watch a movie / Netflix with my wife. Haha, definitely take the edge off, too. Overall, not horrible, but definitely looking forward to this quarantine ending. What do you think, mid-June?
