Social Welfare Rates Ageist?

You're getting €203 now rather than the €198 because they upped it by a fiver in the last budget.

It's literally impossible to live on the dole for life.

I have one brother that's been on the dole for 20 years and another on it for the last 5. It's not impossible , it's actually very easy and those courses are usually only set for people that recently signed on. So I'm far more understanding of the situation than you are. I was also on the dole myself at one stage in the lower bracket.

The low rate certainly didn't motivate me in anyway to try and get work either. I was already motivated That's great, if you're motivated go and get a job. That doesn't hold true for everyone. If they're able to get €200/week, medical, rental allowance etc why the fuck would they bother accepting a minimum wage job? There's a lot of people that wouldn't, just because you're not one of them doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I see it literally every day.
