Took the Grant Macewan Diploma program and transferred to Calgary via UofA campus, this was about 18 years ago now. Very easy program at GMAC but at that time also fairly disorganized and honestly didn’t feel I gained a lot from it. The field placements were fantastic though and possibly the best part of it for me anyway. University of Calgary was a lot more educational in my opinion, but I think there’s a full degree program available at one institution here now if I am not mistaken?

Make sure that’s what you love because burn out is high and often times pay is low unfortunately. If I were to go back I would have tried shadowing someone who does front line work for a few weeks to really get some insight. There are so many different types of work you can do, some are going to be more testing then others.
