I don’t agree with your premise either. We don’t have a problem with consent. We have never had a problem with consent. We have a problem with rapists, that problem has always existed. Teaching young men YOUR definition of consent is not going to do anything to solve rape. All this consent nonsense is doing is putting ideas in young girls heads that they were raped or assaulted when they weren’t. When you over emphasise that a verbal affirmation is needed then any sexual interaction without that affirmation can then be considered rape of assault. We should be clear teaching young women to stand up for themselves and to be clear about what they want and what their expectations are. Modern feminism is teaching young women that they are helpless victims with no agency. This idea couldn’t be further from the truth. All the hard work over decades by feminists who fought for equal treatment is being thrown away by this modern obsession with casting women as victims. If a woman is afraid to say ‘no’ then they need to grow some balls. What is the worst that can happen. If they guy you are with is an actual rapist then it won’t matter whether you say yes or no. Statistically the overwhelming majority of men are not rapists, if you say no and are clear about your intentions then there will be no confusion in the vast majority of cases.
