You've no evidence the gesture wasn't completely ironic. Personally? I tend to think a bunch of drunken idiots heiling Milo is obviously ironic. Again, take it from an Austrian native - you might be familiar with the country... it was that one that signed up to become Nazis willingly, everyone forgot were Nazis, didn't suffer any Holocaust guilt for the fact everyone forgot we were Nazis and subsequently never had the far right pass out of the mainstream for it... I've encountered real Neo-Nazis quite a few times growing up - If Milo had been in an actual Nazi bar he wouldn't have made it out in one piece, let alone been saluted.
